U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant Honored

Hospice of the Western Reserve conducts both private and public Veteran Recognitions that range from intimate ceremonies involving a single hospice patient and close family members to large public ceremonies with hundreds of participants. 

The HWR team conducted a Veteran Pinning ceremony for Richard (Dick) Carr, who served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Dick is presently under hospice care through our Alt Care program at Maplewood of Chardon.

Volunteers Chuck Wirtz and Danny Pugliese conducted the ceremony. More than 30 friends, family members, and fellow residents came together to honor Dick and express their gratitude for his service.
