John E. Harvan, Jr.

Chief Financial Officer

John Harvan became Chief Financial Officer for Hospice of the Western Reserve in 2001. Prior to that he served as Director of Finance for nine years.

He is responsible for all accounting and finance functions of Hospice of the Western Reserve, including financial reporting, budgeting, and banking relationships; and general business operations.

Previously, he was the Vice President of Finance for University MEDNET, a 110-physician, multi-specialty group practice, and prior to that, a manager at Price Waterhouse & Co.

Harvan is involved with organizations that advocate for end-of-life issues. He is a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), and he has been as Chair of its Finance and Information Systems’ Section. He serves on the Midwest Care Alliance (MCA) Finance Committee. In addition, he is a member of the National Hospice Work Group (NHWG) CFO Forum, as well as Hospice of the Western Reserve’s alternative representative to the Hospice Alliance of Ohio.

A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, he holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting. Harvan lives with his wife and three sons.
