John Mastrojohn joined Hospice of the Western Reserve as Chief Innovations Officer in September 2019, moving to his role of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in 2021.  As part of this transition, support services, facilities management and information systems will be realigned under the Chief Operating Officer. John will continue to provide leadership support for the human resources, marketing and communications, provider relations and volunteer teams. 

He has a long service record in hospice care, including as Chief Operating Officer and Foundation President for the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, Director of Summa Hospice and Team Leader for Hospice of the Western Reserve’s AIDS Team in the 1990’s. John is responsible for the development and expansion  of the Agency’s regional network of not-for-profit hospices, oversees efforts to improve staff engagement, recruitment and retention and assists the Agency to meet its fundraising goals.
