Dottie Aust, Volunteer for Life's Treasures

Life’s Treasures is a trove of unique, quality, and affordable finds. Located on Court Street in downtown Medina, this secondhand shop is staffed by volunteers with an eye for detail and a heart for service.

Dottie Aust has been volunteering for Life’s Treasures for the last 14 years. She started out on the cash register, but she’s now in charge of the jewelry display.

“It’s amazing where it all comes from,” says Dottie. “I’ve even started learning the manufacturers’ names. This is my sixth year doing the jewelry and it’s very fulfilling.”

Life’s Treasures staff and volunteers take great pride in the items donated by the community. Dottie mentions how the shop is set up like a department store, and that great time and detail is paid towards rearranging displays for the holidays.

The profits made by Life’s Treasures directly benefit Hospice of the Western Reserve. The shop is seeking volunteers, and Dottie says the people she works with are the best part of the job.

“You’re going to meet some wonderful people here. If you’re on the fence, just give it a try.”
