Dr. Kevin Dieter Earns National Award from American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine


​Hospice of the Western Reserve physician Dr. Kevin Dieter of Sagamore Hills is the recipient of the 2019 Josefina B. Magno Distinguished Hospice Physician Award from the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM). He received the award at the AAHPM's Annual Conference in Orlando recently. Dr. Dieter is associate medical director at Hospice of the Western Reserve and directs the medical care provided at the nonprofit agency’s David Simpson Hospice House on E. 185th St. in Cleveland. He is also the physician for the team that delivers hospice care in the homes of patients in Lake, Geauga and portions of eastern Cuyahoga County.

Doggone Special: Linus Celebrates 10 Years of Comforting Hospice Patients


​They say that every dog has its day, and recently it was Linus’s turn to shine. The gentle Golden Retriever therapy dog was honored for a very special milestone: 10 years of bringing comfort, compassion and smiles to patients and their families at David Simpson Hospice House.

Brighten A Patient's Day: Donate An Animal from Our Zoo


​For a $50 donation in addition to your registration fee for the 2020 Walk to Remember Fundraiser, Hospice of the Western Reserve will provide one of our adorable Comfort Buddies by Warmies® to a patient. Comfort Buddies are used to provide reassurance and meaning to a variety of patients, from pediatrics to dementia care. We’ve found that Comfort Buddies improve patient experience by reducing agitation and restlessness and provide an overall sense of wellbeing.
