Authors John D. Martin, a bereavement counselor, and Frank D. Ferris MD, a palliative care specialist, discuss the importance of giving yourself permission to grieve and offer suggestions for rebuilding your life without your loved one.

What if the truth makes my caregiver angry? Will I get in trouble if I tell the truth? In reality, telling the truth often minimizes negative consequences and increases trust, love and openness between child and adult.
