​For pet lovers, the loss of a beloved pet can be devastating. Owners and family members feel sad and lost when their pet dies. We go through the same grieving process as we do for humans. But what about our pets?  When another pet or a person in the home dies, do the other animals feel grief? If they do, how can we tell?  What, if anything, can we do to comfort them?

May 26 Veterans Honor Run in Avon Lake to Benefit Valor Home and Nine Line Foundation


​Join us in Avon Lake on Sunday, May 26, for the 7th annual Veterans Honor Run presented by Hospice of the Western Reserve. Participants and their families and friends are invited to wear their best red, white, and blue to show their support! This year’ s event benefits Valor Home in Lorain and the Nine Line Foundation. Valor Home is a transitional housing program for homeless male veterans. The Nine Line Foundation is a national charity dedicated to meeting the financial and specialized needs of severely injured soldiers and their families.

Three Generations Walk to Celebrate Life


Hospice of the Western Reserve’s Walk to Remember has become an important and meaningful day to our family – Team Angels.  This year marks Team Angels’ second annual walk in memory of Frank and Marie Alder – our beloved parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents.  Three generations walk in their memory.
