Provider Relations’ Care Packages Recognize Our Veteran Patients and Vets In the Community

Veterans Day is always one we celebrate with our patients and partners in the community. This year, like all events, our celebrations will look a little different. However, the Provider Relations Team is making sure that even if celebrations can’t look like they have in years past that they’re still a warm, memorable thank you for those who’ve served.

The team has put together care packages to deliver to veterans. More than 900 kits will be shared with our veteran patients and other vets at our partner facilities!

Each kit includes:
• An honored veterans pin
• A certificate recognizing their service
• A window sign
• A copy of the oath of a veteran
• A copy of the salute to the veteran
• A small flag
• A pen and notepad
• A stress heart
• Hand sanitizer
• A Thank you for our service candy bar or USA-themed word search activity book

Provider Relations team members are planning to celebrate veterans with virtual visits, window salutes and color guards and outdoor celebrations – depending on where the vet live and what social distancing guidelines allow for. The team is also planning community-based drive through Veterans Recognition Ceremonies. Celebrations will take place throughout the community leading up to and on Veterans Day next week.

If you want to recognize one of your patients during Veterans Day week with a care package, email Cheryl Strang, Administrative Assistant to Provider Relations, at cstrang@hospicewr.org.
