One-Stop Shopping: Christmas Treasures Relocates Inside Life’s Treasures

Shopping at Christmas Treasures is always one of Medina’s most eagerly anticipated annual holiday traditions. This year, bargain hunters can look forward to the same experience but with the added  convenience of one-stop shopping. Rather than operating as a stand-alone location, Christmas Treasures has relocated inside the Life’s Treasures Thrift Shop, 317 S. Court St., Medina. Christmas merchandise is available starting Oct. 12. The store is COVID compliant with protocols in place to protect everyone’s safety.

The popular re-sale shop is operated by volunteers from HMC Hospice of Medina County. All revenues benefit patients and families in Medina County. Revised hours for the store are Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Check the shop’s Facebook postings for any changes/updates.)

“Shoppers will find the same fantastic array of new and gently used holiday treasures they are accustomed to finding, but this year, they are displayed in different areas throughout the Life’s Treasures shop,” explained Stephanie Furey, store manager. “Visitors will find a large selection of lifelike trees, wreaths, centerpieces and ornaments in dozens of styles. Other items include collectible Santas and snowmen, lights, stocking stuffers, books and CDs, holiday apparel, Christmas china, garlands, swags, bows and cookie tins.”

Life’s Treasures volunteers needed
Additional volunteers are always needed to help in many roles, whether it’s working behind the scenes to help organize, price and display merchandise or serving customers.

“Our volunteers are largely responsible for the ongoing success of the shop,” said Amy Wermer, director of Human Resources. “We couldn’t do it without them. They have talents in so many different areas. They consistently tell us contributing here gives them a feeling of satisfaction, knowing they are helping others in our community. Hours are flexible and we can adapt to accommodate almost any schedule.”
