Colleen Moran Receives 2018 Most Treasured Volunteer Award


​Mentor resident Colleen Moran, a Hospice of the Western Reserve volunteer for 18 years, has received a 2018 Most Treasured Volunteer Award from the Center for Community Solutions, a nonpartisan think tank in Cleveland focused on health, social and economic issues. Presenting the award to Colleen was Tiffani Tucker, Channel 19 news anchor. Candidates were evaluated on criteria that included innovative approaches, difficult obstacles overcome, accomplishments, community need and the volunteer's impact in the Northern Ohio region.

Being By Your Side is His Calling


​For 80-year-old Pat McMahon, sitting with a dying patient at their bedside in their final hours is more than an act of caring. He considers it a sacred calling. As a By Your Side volunteer for Hospice of the Western Reserve, he travels across 11 counties whenever he is needed to provide a compassionate presence.
