Chief Financial Officer
Jeff Kovacs became Chief Financial Officer for Hospice of the Western Reserve in May of 2020. He is responsible for all accounting and finance functions of the agency including financial reporting, budgeting, banking relationships and general business operations. Prior to his role as CFO, Jeff served as Director of Finance for four years where he led the Accounts Payable, Accounting, Payroll, and Procurement Operations teams. Jeff’s long-term vision produced operational efficiencies and ensured successful annual audits. A healthcare industry finance and operations expert with more than 20 years of successful experience, Jeff has proven abilities in streamlining processes using strategic planning and financial leadership skills. With deep tech industry knowledge, he has a reputation for developing business strategies which support revenue generating models. Jeff is the former Director of Finance and Revenue Cycle Management for Akron General Hospital, where he was responsible for the financial and billing operations of a multispecialty physician group with over 200 providers. He adeptly fostered relationships with physicians and practice managers which led to improved transparency, identifying process improvements, and aligning resources to accomplish goals. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, and an MBA in HealthCare from Baldwin Wallace College. Jeff is a licensed CPA (Certified Public Accountant) in the State of Ohio. Jeff served as Treasurer and on the Board of Directors for the American College of HealthCare Executives, Northern Ohio Chapter. He is an active member of the Ohio Society of CPAs, the HealthCare Financial Management Association, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
